Job Search & Career Networking Workshop

Career Networking Pro, a St. Louis owned and operated employment consulting company, will be conducting a job search and career networking workshop May 18th, 2009, sponsored by the St. Louis Business Journal and other area corporations.

The workshop will be held in Chesterfield, MO, and conducted by Frank Danzo, founder and president of Career Networking Pro. Based on Mr. Danzo’s book, People Hire People - Not Resumes, this seminar will train and guide unemployed professionals on how to actively direct and control the process of finding and securing their next career opportunity.

Career Networking Pro is calling upon St. Louis Area companies to sponsor and support this event by purchasing workshop seats to be distributed to area job seekers. Such corporate sponsors will be publicly acknowledged in local media, both traditional and web-based, including multiple ads in the St. Louis Business Journal.

“Everybody knows someone, a neighbor, a friend, or a former co-worker, who is unemployed right now,” according to Mr. Danzo. “A sponsor’s management and employees will be able to say to that person, ‘our company cares and wants to provide you with access to a job search workshop’ and in a tight knit business community like St. Louis that has lasting benefit for the sponsor.”

Unlike career fairs and other traditional networking events, this 4-hour workshop will educate participants on Proactive Career Networking and how to approach potential hiring authorities and industry contacts to get guidance, referrals, and eventually, interviews. Specific topics will include developing a self-marketing plan and resume, as well as conducting networking meetings and preparing for interviews.

Professionals know their jobs. They have an education and experience, yet through no fault of their own today, many are jobless. And most have had no training and very little experience in the job market, seeking employment,” says Frank Danzo. “Doing it well – better than others who are also candidates for the same openings -- is not a complicated process, but it requires persistence. Persistence doing what? That’s what we teach.”

Corporate sponsorships for the seminar are available at three levels, based on the number of admissions they provide: 50, 25, and 10 -- designated as Platinum, Gold, and Basic. Sponsors may distribute their admission tickets in any way they choose to people they know to be out of work and needing help in their job search. Career Networking Pro can also distribute invitations on behalf of a corporate sponsor to unemployed area business professionals.

All seminar participants will receive a copy of People Hire People, Not Resumes and a starter subscription to the St. Louis Business Journal, the event’s media sponsor. In addition, they will be given access to Career Networking Pro’s web-based outplacement system and a comprehensive training manual. Sponsors will be recognized at the workshop, on the special workshop website, in traditional media, and in the St. Louis Business Journal, both in print and online.
